Meet Some of Our Volunteers
Rory O’Shaughnessy
‘As a stonemason living in the Burren region the BCV allows me to give something back to my community. Teaching other volunteers the skills of dry stone walling not only passes on a traditional skill but it also ensures the safeguarding and conservation of the Burren walls a huge if sometimes overlooked part of our heritage.’

Sarahann O’Loughlin
"I joined the BCVs during my Environmental Science studies. It offers a great opportunity to put theory into practice and gain hands on experience of conservation work. After hours in the classroom it was so satisfying to get actively involved in conserving an area as special as the Burren in such a practical way."
Mary Howard
"I live and work in the Burren and over the past few years have become more conscious of conservation issues in the region. I was delighted to get the chance to join the Burren Conservation Volunteers and to take a more active role in tackling problems and conserving the local environment.’
