burrenbeo is a 'not for profit' initiative which has its origins (in
January 2002) in the genuine concern of its founders for the future of
the Burren region and its communities. The information we provide on
this website has been compiled by burrenbeo as a free service to people
all over the world with a shared love or interest in the Burren.
The original burrenbeo website was designed by burrenbeo, with some
financial support from Clare County Enterprise Board (3,000 euro
Feasibility Study Grant), The Heritage Council (Publication Grant of
4,000 euro) and LEADER Co. Clare (Equipment Grant 4,000 euro).
The 2005 redevelopment of the burrenbeo website has been supported by
Shannon Development as part of the ‘Tourism Heritage and Innovation
Programme’. The total amount received from Shannon Development was
12,000 Euro. The full redevelopment costs for the burrenbeo website was
24,000. (Excluding burrenbeo project management costs)
The payment of hosting, registration and all other overhead charges
including the additional redevelopment costs as well as all project
management and content provision, continue to be covered in full by Ann
O’Connor and Brendan Dunford of burrenbeo.
