One of Ireland’s foremost visitor attractions, these awe-inspiring cliffs extend 8km along the Atlantic coast, facing the mighty power of the Ocean which continues to gradually erode this magnificent natural wonder.
Almost 700 feet (over 200m) high, composed of bands of shale and sandstone, the cliffs offer spectacular views westward towards the Aran islands, and provide a perfect vantage point to admire the setting sun or the frightening sight of the Ocean below. O’Brien’s Tower is located on the highest point of the cliff. New state-of-the-art visitor facilities are presently under development. At the moment admission is free, though there is a fee for car parking.
